- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes, then plunge into ice water.
- In a skillet, cook thick-cut bacon over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet, add minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in brown sugar and soy sauce, cooking for 1-2 minutes until the sugar dissolves and a glaze forms.
- In a baking dish, toss blanched green beans with the glaze and bacon until well-coated.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

Fresh green beans yield the best texture. Optionally, vegetables can be made vegetarian by omitting bacon and using oil instead.
