  • 1 pound Green Beans Fresh or canned
For the Glaze
  • 6 ounces Thick-Cut Bacon Any bacon works, thick-cut enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Substitute with maple syrup or honey if desired
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Opt for low-sodium for a lighter flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Can be replaced with olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh preferred, garlic powder may work

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes, then plunge into ice water.
  2. In a skillet, cook thick-cut bacon over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet, add minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in brown sugar and soy sauce, cooking for 1-2 minutes until the sugar dissolves and a glaze forms.
  5. In a baking dish, toss blanched green beans with the glaze and bacon until well-coated.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
