  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme Italian seasoning is an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Reduce for lower sodium.
For the Gravy
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Mix with water to create a slurry.
  • 0.25 cups Water Use for slurry.
For Serving
  • 4 slices Bread (White or Texas Toast) Whole grain is healthier.
  • 4 cups Mashed Potatoes Fresh is best, but store-bought works.

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the Base: Place sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add the Beef: Layer the beef roast on top of the onions.
  3. Pour in the Broth: Pour the beef broth over the roast, followed by Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
  4. Season Generously: Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt over the beef.
  5. Set for Cooking: Cover the slow cooker and set it to LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
  6. Shred the Beef: Remove the beef and shred it into bite-sized pieces using two forks.
  7. Thicken the Gravy: Strain onions from broth, then mix cornstarch with water and stir into broth.
  8. Assemble Your Dish: Layer toasted bread, mashed potatoes, shredded beef, and drizzle with gravy.
