  • 1 teaspoon Hot Paprika Substitute with cayenne pepper for more spice
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Salt Use kosher salt or sea salt as alternatives
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Omit if necessary
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Can replace with curry powder

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add olive oil and warm for about 30 seconds.
  2. Add red bell pepper, serrano or jalapeno peppers, carrots, and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in sweet paprika, hot paprika, salt, cumin, turmeric, and tomato paste. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour in water and add half of the cilantro. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes.
  5. Season salmon fillets with salt. Place fillets in the pan, covering them with sauce.
  6. Cover the pan and let cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Garnish with lemon slices and an extra squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
