  • 28 oz Canned Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Red Wine or substitute with beef broth
  • 1 tsp Mediterranean Herbs (Oregano and Basil) or Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stick
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For Serving
  • 8 oz Spaghetti cook according to package instructions
  • 1/2 cup Grated Kefalograviera Cheese optional for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and pour in olive oil. Add finely chopped onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add beef mince to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Pour in canned tomatoes and red wine, scraping the skillet's bottom. Add a cinnamon stick and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and basil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Cook spaghetti in a pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente.
  7. Combine cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce in the skillet until evenly coated.
  8. Serve hot, optionally garnished with grated Kefalograviera cheese.
