Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 kg Boneless Chicken Thighs Consider firm tofu or seasonal vegetables for a vegetarian option.
For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Dark Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
For the Broth
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (grated)
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
For the Sear and Serve
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil For searing chicken.
  • 2 cups Cooked White Rice Serve as a base.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions For garnish.
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauces, brown sugar, honey, and rice vinegar until well combined.
  2. Coat the boneless chicken thighs in the prepared marinade and let sit for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sear the marinated chicken for about 5–7 minutes on each side.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and sesame oil, stirring to combine and bring to a simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Slice the seared chicken and return it to the pan with the broth to warm through.
  7. Serve cooked rice in bowls, ladle the broth over the rice, and top with chicken, green onions, and sesame seeds.
