  • 4 ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese or substitute with Brie or Gouda
  • 1 medium Granny Smith Apple can use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries can substitute with cranberry sauce or fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter can use vegan butter for dairy-free option

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thinly slice the Granny Smith apples to about 1/8 inch thick. Soak dried cranberries in warm water for 10 minutes to plump them.
  2. Spread unsalted butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Layer cheese, apple slices, cranberries, and another cheese slice between two slices of bread, butter side out.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes, then add the sandwich and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden.
  5. Flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, let it sit for a minute, slice in half, and serve warm.
