Burger Preparation
- Start by draining and rinsing your black beans under cold water until it runs clear.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add onions and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Transfer black beans and sautéed mixture to a bowl and mash until mostly smooth.
- Stir in breadcrumbs, egg or flaxseed, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into tightly packed patties about one inch thick.
- Heat oil in skillet, cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from skillet, let rest on paper towel, and assemble with your favorite toppings.
Salsa Preparation
- Chop mango, habanero, red onion, and cilantro.
- Mix together in a bowl with lime juice until well combined.
