Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until smooth, then gradually add flour until crumbly.
- Reserve two-thirds of the crumble mixture, then press the remainder into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Slice chosen apples thinly and toss with cinnamon and nutmeg until coated. Spread the spiced apple mixture over the crumble base.
- Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apple layer. Sprinkle the reserved crumble mixture on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Remove and cool completely before slicing.
