- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your 8x8 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
- Mix in the mashed ripe bananas, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture.
- Sift in the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently, being careful not to over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish, smoothing the top evenly.
- Bake for 30-34 minutes, until edges are set and a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
