Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat at 375°F, or set your oven to 400°F for baking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pure maple syrup, bourbon, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper.
  3. Pour half of the marinade into a shallow dish or resealable bag and reserve the other half for later.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the dish or bag with the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  5. If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill grates and grill for 5-6 minutes per side, until it flakes easily.
  6. For baking, place the salmon on a lined baking sheet, brush with marinade, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  7. Drizzle the remaining marinade over the top before serving and garnish with chopped green onions.
