Preparation
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat at 375°F, or set your oven to 400°F for baking.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together pure maple syrup, bourbon, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper.
- Pour half of the marinade into a shallow dish or resealable bag and reserve the other half for later.
- Place the salmon fillets in the dish or bag with the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill grates and grill for 5-6 minutes per side, until it flakes easily.
- For baking, place the salmon on a lined baking sheet, brush with marinade, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Drizzle the remaining marinade over the top before serving and garnish with chopped green onions.
