Ingredients

For the Butter Mix
  • 1 pound Lobster Meat Provides a sweet, delicate flavor; use fresh or quality frozen for best results.
  • 1 pound Crab Meat Adds a briny richness; opt for lump crab meat for superior taste and texture.
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Acts as the creamy base; ensure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Brightens the flavors and balances the richness of the butter.
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Essential for enhancing flavor; must be minced.
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning Adds classic seafood flavor vital for authenticity.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley Gives a fresh herbal note and boosts visual appeal.
  • Salt and Pepper Necessary for seasoning the mixture to elevate overall flavor.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • plastic wrap
  • Knife

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 pound each of lobster meat and crab meat, and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Use a spatula to thoroughly blend all the ingredients until everything is well incorporated and the mixture is creamy, resembling a rich seafood spread.
  2. If the mixture feels too loose to form, pop it into the refrigerator for about 15–20 minutes to help firm up the butter mixture.
  3. Lay out a sheet of plastic wrap on your workspace. Spoon the lobster and crab mixture onto the center and gently roll it into a log shape, about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap the plastic tightly around the mixture, twisting the ends to seal it closed. Place the wrapped log in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours.
  4. After chilling, carefully unwrap the butter log and use a sharp knife to slice it into even rounds, about 1 inch thick. Arrange the slices on a serving platter, garnishing with additional chopped parsley and serve alongside lemon wedges.
