Step-by-Step Instructions for Christmas Sausage Rolls
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, then add onion and garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sautéed onion and garlic with sausage meat, sage, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 12x14 inches, then slice into 3x4 inch rectangles.
- Place 2 tablespoons of filling onto each pastry rectangle. Fold pastry over filling and seal edges.
- Brush with beaten egg, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on them.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally serve with mustard or cranberry sauce.
