Equipment

  • Oven
  • skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Sharp Knife
  • Silicone Mat

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer to mixing bowl, add sausage meat, sage, thyme, black pepper, and salt, mixing until well incorporated.
  3. Lightly dust your countertop with flour and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into strips, approximately 3 inches wide.
  4. Take a strip of puff pastry and spoon a line of sausage mixture along one edge, leaving space at the ends for sealing. Fold the pastry over the filling, encasing the sausage tightly and press the edges to seal.
  5. Slice the assembled rolls into 3-4 inch sections. Place the sections on the baking tray, brushing the tops with a beaten egg.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up. Enjoy the aroma of spices and sausage!
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm with dipping sauces like mustard or cranberry sauce.
