Preparation Steps
  1. Soak frozen rice cakes in water for 20 to 30 minutes until softened. Drain and dry.
  2. Heat neutral oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry rice cakes in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes, flip, and fry for another 3 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, add butter, honey, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Toss the fried rice cakes in the honey butter sauce for 1 to 2 minutes until thoroughly coated.
  5. Serve immediately and optionally sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
