  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked paprika can be used for extra depth
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika Omit if a lighter taste is preferred
  • Black Pepper Season to taste
  • Sea Salt Adjust if broth is salty
  • a pinch Cayenne Pepper Leave out for a milder dish
  • 1 medium head Broccoli Cut into florets
  • cup Vegetable Broth Water can be substituted if needed
  • 1 can Chickpeas Rinsed and drained

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  3. Add broccoli and vegetable broth, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Prepare the sauce in a bowl with water, soy sauce, vinegar, maple syrup, and cornstarch.
  5. Pour sauce into the skillet with sautéed vegetables, add chickpeas and bring to a gentle boil, simmering for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning as necessary and serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
