Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Slice the rolled pastry into 8 equal squares.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create the egg wash.
  5. Place a slice of ham and a portion of cheese on the center of each pastry square. Optionally, spread Dijon mustard on the pastry.
  6. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and fresh herbs over the filling.
