Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add all-purpose flour and mix until a crumbly dough forms. Set aside half of the dough.
  5. Mix cocoa powder into the reserved half of the dough until fully combined.
  6. Roll portions of both doughs into 12-inch logs, alternating for marbling, and twist together.
  7. Cut the log into 1-inch sections, roll each into a ball, and coat in sanding sugar.
  8. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 12 minutes.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool for 3-5 minutes, then press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss or Hug into the center of each cookie.
  10. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
