Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour and mix until a crumbly dough forms. Set aside half of the dough.
- Mix cocoa powder into the reserved half of the dough until fully combined.
- Roll portions of both doughs into 12-inch logs, alternating for marbling, and twist together.
- Cut the log into 1-inch sections, roll each into a ball, and coat in sanding sugar.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 12 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 3-5 minutes, then press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss or Hug into the center of each cookie.
- Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes
Using room temperature butter and avoiding overmixing will enhance the texture of the cookies.
