Preparation Steps
- Mix together baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Toss the chicken wings with the mixture in a larger bowl.
- Chill the seasoned wings uncovered in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, up to 2 days.
- Preheat oven to 450ºF (232ºC). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top.
- Arrange chicken wings in a single layer on the wire rack and roast for 40-50 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Preheat air fryer to 400ºF (204ºC).
- In air fryer, cook wings in a single layer for 30 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Melt unsalted butter and honey together in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir to combine and then add crushed red pepper flakes and soy sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in fresh orange zest and juice.
- Transfer cooked wings to a large bowl and drizzle with the warm honey butter sauce, tossing to coat.
- Serve the coated wings on a platter garnished with optional orange wedges.
