Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 12-inch skillet or pizza pan with unsalted butter or oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine thawed and dried frozen shredded hash browns with melted butter, salt, and ground black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Press the hash brown mixture into the greased pan, forming an even layer with slightly elevated edges. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hot crust, followed by optional sausage or bacon, diced bell peppers, and chopped green onions.
  5. Using the back of a spoon, create small wells in the toppings for the eggs.
  6. Crack one egg into each well. Season the eggs with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until egg whites are set and yolks are slightly runny if desired.
