Chili Preparation
- Melt butter over medium heat in a large pot. Add brown onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in sea salt, ground pepper, chili powder, granulated garlic powder, dried oregano, and dried cumin. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Increase heat and brown ground beef for 6-8 minutes until no longer pink.
- Pour in beer and salsa. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in refried beans. Simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes.
- Prepare relish by mixing bell pepper, dill pickles, green cabbage, chopped onion, apple cider vinegar, and mustard in a bowl.
- Grill or pan-fry hot dogs. Serve in toasted buns topped with Hot Dog Chili and relish.
