- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line your 9x13-inch baking dish with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Combine softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a bowl and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Slowly add flour, baking soda, and salt to the mixture and mix just until combined.
- Fold in M&M's and mini chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Press the reserved M&M's and mini chocolate chips into the top of the dough.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are lightly golden and center is set but still soft.
- Allow to cool completely before lifting out and slicing into squares.
