Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.

  3. Strain the syrup into a jar using a fine mesh sieve, discarding solids and let cool.
  4. Fill tall glass with ice, pour in bourbon, pear juice, ginger ale, and add ginger sage syrup.
  5. Garnish with pear slices and a sprig of sage. Serve immediately.
