  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon paprika smoked for a hint of smokiness

  • 1 large egg or flax egg for vegan option
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons sriracha to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional; maple syrup for vegan

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and honey. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cut the salmon fillet into bite-sized pieces. Dip each piece in the flour mixture, then in the beaten egg, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs. Place on a plate.
  4. In a large skillet, pour in vegetable oil and heat over medium-high until about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Add the breaded salmon pieces in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
  6. In a large bowl, add the fried salmon bites and pour over the Bang Bang sauce. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  7. Transfer the sauced salmon bites to a serving platter. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
