Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, spraying it lightly with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and light brown sugar together on medium speed for about 2 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour on low speed just until incorporated. The batter should be thick and scoopable.
  5. Gently fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips with a spatula, ensuring not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
