Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add diced bacon and sauté for about 6-8 minutes until browned and crispy.
  2. Remove the bacon, leaving approximately 1 tablespoon of rendered fat in the pan.
  3. Add cabbage wedges to the skillet, ensuring they’re coated in bacon fat and brown on each side for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 13" x 9" baking dish.
  5. Arrange browned cabbage wedges in the dish and scatter sliced apples around it.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together apple juice, grainy mustard, and kosher salt.
  7. Fold in heavy cream to create the sauce.
  8. Pour the creamy sauce over the cabbage and apples and sprinkle cooked bacon on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.
  10. Once tender and slightly bubbling, remove from oven and let rest before serving.
