  • 2 teaspoons Cajun Seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Water or Broth low-sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves to be removed before serving

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Prep the Ingredients: Wash and slice fresh okra, chop Roma tomatoes, peel and devein the shrimp, prepare garlic paste and chopped onion.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil, add shrimp and season. Cook until pink, about 5-6 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Sauté Okra and Onions: In the same pan, add okra and onions. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until tender.
  4. Combine All Ingredients: Add chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic paste, Cajun seasoning, ginger, cumin, and broth. Stir in bay leaves.
  5. Simmer the Dish: Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Finalize the Dish: Stir in shrimp and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes. Remove bay leaves before serving.
